We like to think of our day care as a home away from home. The toddler stage of life (18 -30 months) can be a very emotional ride. They are little people that are continuing to learn every day. They are learning to move, to talk, teething…

The toddler room is set up with calm colours, and comfortable child sized furniture. Our room is divided into distinct learning areas (book/quiet area, block/building area, kitchen dramatic play).

We also provide them with a variety of different activities and experiences at tables. This gives each child the opportunity to choose what he/she would like to do.

We believe that children learn through the relationships in their lives, the experiences provided for them, and through play in a safe and stimulating environment.

It is crucial to us that your child feels safe and free to be her/himself. Our goal is to ensure a trusting and nurturing relationship with each child. We strive to have an open relationship with parents/guardians, built on respect, trust, and positive communication.

We want to help them regulate their emotions because they are not yet able to do this on their own. In an emergent setting, we try to give the toddlers as much opportunity as possible to “choose” things for themselves, and let us know what they want, need, or are interested in.
